MERIDIAN, IDAHO  (November 27, 2019) —  Artist Dawn Stone has found a new home in Meridian, Idaho, sharing her Hawaiian roots and west coast style with fellow midwestern neighbors.

A recent transplant from Coronado Island in San Diego, Dawn is a veteran floral and event designer, spending nearly 20 years in the wedding, corporate and luxury event business. Her innate artistic abilities have always made her a star, earning a solid reputation as one of the premier floral and event designers in Southern California and Hawaii.

As founder of Embellishmint Floral & Event Design Studio, Stone created design environments at some of the most notable venues in SoCal - Hotel Del, Loews Coronado, Fairmont Grand Del Mar, Rancho Valencia, L’Auberge, Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, amongst many others, receiving accolades in top trade publications like Grace Ormonde, Inside Weddings, and Ceremony Magazine. She was featured on the hit show, Platinum Weddings for designing the celebrity wedding of Billboard R&B/Hip Hop singer Anisha Gwynn (daughter of legendary baseball player Tony Gwynn) to Kennard Jones; also finding fame as the lead designer for the Hawaiian Dream Wedding Contest for the launch of Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, as seen on Live with Regis and Kelly.

Her final venture in California, before heading east, was a complete home renovation and transformation. From first demo down to the final details, Dawn designed and envisioned an open-air oasis to encompass the island lifestyle, working alongside partner/contractor Richard Gonzalez of Good Guys Design & Build. The house was named the Haleakala, which in Hawaiian means “The House of the Rising Sun” and from that space the Emerald Flamingo Studio emerged.

An inspired reflection of self-expression, Dawn has mastered the trending art technique of fluid acrylic pour, utilizing mixed media and resin art to create abstract works, in a therapeutic environment. “In all my experience, I was never known to be a fine artist, “ admits Stone, who studied Interior Design at the Design Institute of San Diego “but I have found an emotional connection to this process. It’s like a meditation of creation that is so organic and pure. It makes me feel good and enriches my imagination like never before.”

Dawn is sharing her works now for this first time in Idaho, and is available for commissioned projects and private instruction. She plans to offer immersive art experiences at the Emerald Flamingo Studio in early 2020.
